Anglers in Nags HeadApril is not only the harbinger of spring to The Outer Banks, but it is also the start of the fishing season here! Speckled trout have begun to appear in the sounds on the west side of The Outer Banks, while Big Red Drum are making their annual spring appearance on the Hatteras and Ocracoke Beaches. Further north, the blue fish are beginning to show, along with some blow toads, and as soon as the ocean warms a little, the specks and sea mullet should show in abundance!

The fact that there were no big freezes this past winter, coupled with the over abundance of shrimp both in the sounds and just offshore, should point to a stellar fishing season this year! Grab your rods, and come on down to The Outer Banks for the catch of a lifetime!
